The horn blared, a deafening, triumphant wail.
Shane stood frozen near the face-off circle, his lungs burning. He watched as Lukas let out a primal scream, his arms raised. But it was Ilya’s reaction that made the air leave Shane’s chest. Ilya didn't just skate over for a glove tap. He charged toward the kid, his face split into a wide, ecstatic grin and collided with Lukas. The momentum of Ilya’s body was so strong it nearly knocked the rookie over, and hauled him into a massive, full-body hug. He wrapped his thick arms around the kid’s shoulders, burying his helmet against Lukas’s, shaking him with a rough, joyous intensity. Even from halfway across the ice, Shane could see Ilya’s lips moving, shouting something praise-heavy and proud into the rookie’s ear. Lukas looked like he’d just been anointed by a god before the two were buried in hugs by the rest of the Centaur's team.Or: Shane gets jealous at the amount of attention Ilya gives to the Centaurs' rookie player.
Set post epilogue of Heated Rivalry and in the middle of the Long Game. -

Summary
Modern-Day AU: Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have been divorced for three years now. As Wuxian and their son Sizhui attempt to moves on into a new city to start a new life, a lot of regretful memories and unexplained feelings remain overhanging the small family. One day after returning home from buying groceries Wuxian runs into someone who looks a hell of a lot like Lan Wangji in the lobby of their apartment. However, this man also seems to be awfully close to some girl by his side. Chaos ensues.
TLDR: WWX and LWJ are oblivious idiots who need to work on communication, thus angst, pining and misunderstandings ensue. Also, Wen Ning + Sizhui are the best boys
