Christmas was not Crowley’s favourite day of the year. Not by a long shot.
For one, London weather that time of year is generally terrbible: grey, cold and moist in all the wrong ways. Not to mention the dreadfully short daylight.
The bright plastic bulbs were a poor mockery of the stars they intended to imitate and made the night sky that much harder to see.
And don’t get him started on the nativities… It felt wrong, to put a family’s most intimate moment on display like that. To celebrate the birth of a precious little baby as if people didn’t know what was in store for him next.
It’s different when it’s someone you knew.

Crowley has a hard time coping with Christmas, and turns to his oldest friends: liquor and Aziraphale. A bit of emotional hurt/comfort packed in a hefty, downy layer of fluff, featuring the author’s unnecessarily extensive research into the origin of some Christmas decorations and a bit of wing action, for your comfort.Written for Bingo-the-Dingo through the Reddit GOAD Christmas Exchange. “Ok…” Crowley ran a hand through his hair. “Ok, ok, so - we need a plan. And to do that, we need information, yeah?”
“Right,” nodded Muriel, enthusiastically.
“Right,” said Crowley. “I suspect it will be a bit more difficult for me to just waltz through Heaven this time, so you’re going to need to—” he cut off with a gasp, like he’d been punched in the gut, and inhaled sharply. “What—"
Muriel felt it a moment later, unbidden tears spilling from their eyes. A great despair. A wave of agony and anguish. A cosmic imbalance, ripping across the ethereal plane. Angels and demons alike shuddered under the weight of unbearable grief.
The universe wept.
It was a feeling that had not been felt for millennia. Crowley dropped to his knees. Muriel turned to him, horrified. “It- it’s…”
An angel had Fallen.
In which Crowley deals with life post-Aziraphale, and Aziraphale deals with the consequences of his decisions. Can they pick up the pieces in time to save the world again?
