    Summary

“I need to be honest with you about something.”

    “That’s a first.”

Cecil ignores the comment and instead grips the remote tightly before taking it out of his pocket and setting it on the table. “Do you know what a contingency plan is?”

    “Uh—”

“I make plans for every event I can think of. I hear whispers of a concern and I make plans to shut that concern down. I don’t believe that being too proactive is a possibility. Which means: I make plans for the possibility that our heroes go rogue or decide to flip to the other side.”

“What does that remote do?” Mark asks.

    Summary

    Foreword (Synopsis)
This is a time-travel tale. In 209 AC, after being turned away from the lists at the Tourney of Ashford, a crestfallen Duncan finds himself inexplicably cast back to the year 187 AC. There he meets a seventeen-year-old Baelor, who is about to journey to Dorne for the wedding of his aunt, Princess Daenerys Targaryen, to Prince Maron Martell of Dorne.

    Summary

Aerion had stopped at the castle’s entrance, leering his head over his shoulder. His eyes were aflame with something Duncan could not place. And then from his lips, a sound came, like cinders spitting. A laugh.

“You really have no shame,” he said. “Say please, beast, and I’ll consider.”

After having fought with Prince Aerion in the puppet tent, Duncan is brought before the council to be judged. Though, instead of a trial by combat, or death by hanging, he is made a knight of the Kingsguard - to keep Aerion in his place, and to perhaps even make a friend of him.

    Summary

Dunk meant for Summerhall to be a brief stop; a quick return of a runaway prince before he took his sword to Storm's End.
But he did not count on the walls of Summerhall starting to feel so much like home, or the way Prince Maekar’s gaze softens whenever Dunk enters the room, igniting a fire that no knight’s vow can easily douse.

    Summary

Waking up after the events of the trial, Ser Duncan the Tall is more confused than ever. Prince Baelor is completely uninjured and nobody seems to remember what has happened but him.

Nor does it explain the reaction upon the discovery of Dunk wounded within Ashford castle, mistaken for a mistreated servant of the household. The dragon princes of the realm do not seem to appreciate such treatment and immediately take Dunk under their wing, much to the hedge knight’s bewilderment.
