Phyllite didn’t respond after that, and then Gabbro couldn’t breathe.
Their deaths were connected, in a way. If Gabbro missed their hammock coming down, Phyllite would die as well. Their ribs would be crushed, and their breath knocked out of them.
If Phyllite missed the mark or didn’t slow down in time, Gabbro would also feel the effects. That’s how the loop restarted perfectly. They had to die together, or they wouldn’t both be in the same loop.
Gabbro closed their eyes, feeling the breath leave their lungs. Blue light filled their vision, and they saw their memories replay.Gabbro hated when Phyllite had to go through that. Gabbro wished they would just stay with them the whole time, for the whole loop.
But Phyllite wasn’t like Gabbro, and they wouldn’t ever be able to stay in one place for as long as Gabbro could.
Gabbro’s radio crackled to life, a voice calling out to Gabbro. “Gabbro, come in! This is Slate of the Outer Wilds Ventures!”

There were steps to this process. First, make sure Astarion was out. It would be unwise to do this while his husband was in the apartment with him, wouldn’t it? No, no matter how bad it got or how distraught he felt, Viktor would always wait for Astarion to leave their house.
The second step was to lock the doors. Usually, he did this in the bathroom, since the clean-up was easier and there was no chance of getting anything stained. Viktor stood before the mirror, his hands pressed tightly against the counter. He felt the cool marble under his touch, his whole body shaking.
The third step, don’t hesitate. Viktor knew himself, he knew the moment he hesitated he’d convince himself to stop.

“Ah, uhm…Kaito. Hello.” He smiled weakly, bowing his head slightly. Kaito grinned, looking down at Kokichi. “So, you woke up! Took you long enough. Everyone’s awake except Ryoma and Tenko.” Kaito stated matter-of-factly. Kaito was different, his hair was shorter. His nails were painted too.
Kokichi frowned, tilting his head slightly, “Okay, so I’m the one of the last ones to wake up? From what? Aren’t I dead?” He asked, voice slightly trembling at the last part.
Kaito’s grin faltered, and he spoke again, this time a little quieter. “I don’t understand exactly what happened, and the others could probably explain much better. But you’re not dead, You are very much alive…and—I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what you had to do. And for punching you. And for putting you through that. I did get blamed for your murder, but it confused the mastermind even more. You did good.”
What? He did what? And he’s—god he’s alive?! Alive. Like, like not dead, and alive and he didn’t die? “How is that possible…?” He muttered under his breath, looking at Kaito like he’d just seen a ghost.

The xenosuit they have on looks cobbled together, almost experimental. It’s not see-through like my team’s suits are. It wasn’t designed with my light detectors in mind. Instead, it’s dark and opaque, and not at all helping to dispel the impression of a masked burglar in my home.
I’ve never seen that body language in person before, but I understand it on an instinctual level. Eridians are the apex predators of their planet. It’s a hunting stance, and I am the prey.
