Summary
A Ganondorf biography, written over the course of a month-long Ganondorf-centric ficlet-a-day challenge. Many thanks to Shace for the inspiring writing prompt list!
Because this was written as an entry-a-day, some chapters are sillier than others. The tone varied based on the mood and the topic each day.
This initially begins in the Wind Waker era, but most of the story takes place in and around the Ocarina of Time epoch. All of this is in AU territory while also trying to work within canon compliance (though it's difficult to tell anymore through the blurry bias of decades-old headcanons).
Ganondorf characterization: Kinda lovable, fairly arrogant, mad scientist wizard king.

War is on the horizon. By trying to do the right thing, Link fears he has doomed Hyrule to a terrible fate. His worst enemy is free and justly so. He made sure of it. Now, all he can do is desperately try and stop the coming war.
Zelda doesn't want a war. She wants her father's respect. She wants to understand why Link did what he did. She wants to kill Ganondorf. She doesn't want a war, but she doesn't know how to stop it.
