Neither of them were on the bridge when the Ark came across it—engines dead, floating adrift in open space—but everyone aboard knows it happened. And of all the things Sideswipe could have expected to see, could have expected the pilot to be up to, he isn’t really prepared for what it actually is.
Because it’s just… the pilot, sitting on a crate beside their ship, head bowed and helm in their hands with nothing but a scattered collection of tools and an opened compartment of their ship in front of them as context.

Summary
Ultra Magnus has never thought of having, or wanting, anything more with his captain. He's happy with how things are, and if he's noticing more and more of Rodimus' appealing qualities, it's surely just a result of Rodimus ever improving as a captain.
Rodimus has wanted more with his second in command for far, far longer than he wants to admit. In fact, he doesn't want to admit it at all, and he will continue not to. He's satisfied with what he has, and will not risk losing it now over some silly feelings.
And Minimus' repressed and long forgotten alt form is just tired of waiting for them to figure it out.

Zacharie always saw him wandering through the zones, sometimes as a fleeting shadow crossing an abandoned street, sometimes as a silent figure stepping into his shop with the faint chime of the bell. The Batter, always the Batter. Whether it was to buy meat, tickets, or simply to linger like the strange entity he was, his presence clung to the air long after he left.
What really was the difference between a purifier and a priest? Zacharie didn’t know, and frankly, he didn’t care to. Names, titles, duties, labels were for people who needed rules to anchor them. The Batter was a man defined by something heavier than a word, something that lingered in the silence of his movements, in the way he never laughed at Zacharie’s jokes, never cracked a smile, never even breathed wrong.
