“Do you two know each other?”
Luke snaps out of it first, finally looking Anakin up and down with clarity. He steps out of his father's embrace despite Anakin’s hands still holding on to him.
“Y-yea, uh, I met him at a bar last night.”
“A bar?” Anakin says with a laugh in his voice. “There’s no way. Obi-Wan doesn’t drink.” And normally that would be true. But Anakin knows just as well as Obi-Wan that their fight still lurks over them. His face crumbles a bit, despair, and he pivots on a foot to actually look at Obi-Wan. “Right? Obi-Wan?”
Fighting a rush of nauseous saliva, Obi-Wan pleads, “I think we should sit down.”

“Let him pick out the chips, didn’t you?”
Obi-Wan smiles wider.
“I figured he could handle it.”
Mr. Skywalker bends forward with a fist wedged against his thigh, conspiring like. His tight jeans whine when he does so.
“How many shelves do you think he climbed to get them?”
A sigh. Mr. Skywalker knows his son well.
“At least two. Apparently there was a witness.”
“Hey! You weren’t supposed to tell him.”
Stormy eyes meet Obi-Wan’s for a split second. An entire, exasperated conversation passes between them with that one look. Obi-Wan realizes the significance, the electricity almost in real time. It takes his breath away, recognizing the silent conversation they just had for what it actually is. Obi-Wan clears his throat into his fist and tries to lurch away, to flee the intense stare still boring into him. But he’s rooted to the spot in the bubble of Mr. Skywalker’s cologne. It smells woodsy and musky. Like a man would smell, Obi-Wan reckons.

Three months after surviving Mustafar, Darth Vader arrives on Bandomeer to quell rebellious AgriCorps miners. He stumbles upon a man wrapped up in destiny and skilled in healing with the Force.

‘Do what you must with me.’ Oh, he will.
Those bright eyes roll back and flutter before the rest of him slumps as dense slack in Vader’s arms. Vader clouds the mind of every single Stormtrooper they pass on their way back to the Imperial shuttle. No one, most of all the Emperor, will ever know of this little treasure of his. This one is just for him, his plaything, his pet. He will make an honest attempt at healing the scars courtesy of Qui-Gon and Mustafar. And if he refuses to do as ordered or attempts to escape, then Vader will deal with that, too. He ought to focus on his next steps while a droid pilots them back to the Exactor, but Vader lingers by the man’s side and easily slips into his mind.
All is unguarded, and Vader easily finds a name before delving for more, everything about him.
