Summary
The nurse rests back against the wall and slides to the floor, her chest heaving. When she turns her ghostly white face up to Peter, his stomach drops.
This is no petty personal drama.
“They have guns,” she whispers.
Time seems to stop even as the elevator rumbles with the promise of motion.
“Who has guns?” Peter's voice sounds very far away over the high-pitched hum of dread in his ears.
She sobs. Takes a deep breath. Swallows and points at the door. “There are guys out there. They have guns. They're—they're—they're taking hostages.”
Peter's eyes flick once more to the number over the door just before the car starts to descend.
Eleven.
For a moment he stands there dumbly, abruptly lightheaded.
Carter is on the eleventh floor.

“How are you feeling? How's the baby?”
“We're doing great, both of us. But last time I checked, I still have another week and a half of maternity leave, so I know you would not be calling to ask me to pick up a shift, Monty.”
“No, no. Of course not.” There's a pause. “It's Robinavitch.”

It had been a pretty normal shift so far. Just the standard overflowing waiting room and constant running around with barely any time to use the bathroom let alone time to eat or think. Trinity and Dennis had been talking to a patient when she had heard yelling and what she thought was Robby shouting for security, right before there was a loud boom and the building shook.
An incident in the ED shakes things up a bit - literally - and sends Robby on an unwanted trip down memory lane.
