After finding a mysterious tome in one of the tombs that says it will "ensnare the human form of a dark beast”, the townsfolk cast it on Scott hoping to turn him human and destabilize the castle. They get third life Scott instead.
Or: Oakhurst shows us a lovely example of why you shouldn’t assume things without verifying them first. This will surely not have any lasting consequences in their quest for a cure or general understanding of vampirism.

Of all the deaths Scar has ever died, falling through bedrock has to be his least favorite. There’s no simple impact or quick shock of pain, only the suffocating empty black of the Void. There is nothing but falling forever, closing his eyes and holding his breath as he braces for the eventual impact at the end of nothing.

Avid was in a strange place. He was in hell. He had been in that terrible room and now he had a goat with butterfly wings, a demon in yellow, a person who looks to be in an armored space suit, and a masked man in a fluffy coat surrounding him menacingly. The last of these was human at least, the rest of them where shurely demons and this operating room was made to torture him.
Well he could get out of this the way he got out of everything —or at least everything until his death— Talking!
“So do you guys get good dental?” he nervously asks, his captores looking at each other in confusion. They must be dumb henchmen he supposes, so this may be easier than he thought. Or harder, less brains means less interest in things other than their jobs. Well he’ll just have to keep going.
“Becouse from here your teeth look great. Very…um…sharp. Do you bite um people with those?”
He shouldn't have asked it, now they might use them on him, and well last time he was bit was….. Well actually maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
