“You know,” Minerva observes, “I think I preferred you when that enormous snake had bitten through your vocal cords.”
Summoning every rumble of gravelly sarcasm his magical laryngectomy’s afforded him. “Or the Miss Hogsmeade contest? I’m sure Aberforth would rise to the occasion; don a sequined speedo for the swimsuit round.”
“Where was all of this creativity, Severus, when the Board was brainstorming revenue schemes?” Peering sternly over her reading glasses in a way she's very well aware shoots straight to his groin.
“It abandoned me, mid-meeting, much like my will to live.”
Severus handles Minerva's fundraising plans for post-war repairs to the castle with characteristic equanimity.
