You can't just attack someone in this shop. Luckily for you, your wand won't register the attempt. Otherwise I would call the aurors. I suggest you leave now."
The other said his blue eyes narrowing, "Or what? Who do you think the aurors would beleive? A mudblood nobody or two pureblood heirs? You didn't even go to Hogwarts either. You must be a squib."

Everyone was excited to see if he was interesting being new until he was sorted into Hufflepuff. To make things worse when classes start he only takes three classes that were typically mandatory. The rest of his classes are electives. So people begin to ignore him as being barely above a squib. Until one of the 7th Year Gryffindors decide to escalate their bullying of him by attacking him with magic and he uses an unknown form of magic to defend himself.
