But Strauss's orders are Strauss's orders. It would help if this Daisy would stop taking stupid risks and acting like she's bored. Of course Daisy really is bored and isn't exactly allowed to mention that after fighting aliens, Inhumans, and Hydra, dealing with regular serial killers is kind of low stakes.

Modern AU: Mingjue and Xichen are living in different cities, no longer entirely boyfriends as such, more in a best-friends-sort-of-dating-long-distance-in-an-open-relationship scenario. But in practice this largely involves having long distance phone sex most nights while both watching the same porn.
Which, for several months now, has mostly meant watching a sunny little femmeboi called A Yao, who has dimples to die for, an Only Fans page, an endless supply of stockings and dildos, and the kind of flexibility that makes your eyes water.
Mingjue and Xichen are maybe just a little obsessed with the idea of wrecking him.
Lately, A Yao has started including his roommate "Xiao Tang" in his shoots - with his face pixelated, because Xiao Tang is shy, and is not entirely ready to be internet famous in this way.
Mingjue and Xichen are both extremely enthusiastic about this turn of events.

After that plane crash that sent them all down to hell (PIDW) the family is forced to adjust to ancient standards, the constant run in with modern day horrors that people here brush off as daily life.
So it’s no shock that when they see a slave being sold to an obviously abusive person, they step in. Their morals are apparently higher than everyone else’s.
The child is clearly traumatized but the Shen’s are going to do everything in their power to make him comfortable!Jiu- shen jiu the family is now insisting is his name now- doesn’t know what the Shen’s deal is, or what their plan for him is, but he’s determined to figure it out. He won’t let them use them, and to do that he won’t trust them.
But….what if….they actually mean well?
Or: Shen Jiu actually gets a family who cares about him and he heals and doesn’t become a cultivator because he’s happy with his life and doesn’t need it as an escape.

Tony can't get himself back from Siberia, and it takes the night for him to be rescued. While waiting to see if he'll die of hypothermia, he realises something for the first time. It wasn't that he failed because he hadn't tried hard enough. He had failed because he had tried too hard. His so-called team-mates had formed the habit of blaming Tony for everything because he had let them. He had shouldered the blame, let them attack him without consequence, and cleaned up after their mess, all so they could continue to feel self-righteous in peace. But it wasn't just him they were attacking, and saving the world didn't give them a free pass to be the very bullies that Steve claimed to fight against.
Tony woke up in hospital, still sustained by the relief of his realisation. Things sucked, but they would get better. He was Tony Stark, and no challenge was too much for him. It was odd how much easier it was to plot when he actually did intend ways to manipulate the ex-Avengers into falling in line. And since that was what they seemed convinced he was doing all along, they didn't deserve a warning that it would now be true.
