Summary
Set somewhere in Season 4, Kara and Lena are still friends, Lex hasn’t messed things up yet, but Lena is still clueless about a certain secret identity. Then thanks to a small dimensional mishap, Kara runs into her doppelgänger from another universe where things are a bit different. In fact, they are very pleasantly different and it causes a shift in her way of thinking about her Lena which in turn leads to a confrontation on top of the L-Corp building.
Come join us as Kara's life and love life spins out of control after a single brush with how things could be, her secrets and fears get exposed as Lena demands answers.
Lena herself must also rise above her fears and overcome the darkness she fears lies in her soul. High drama and a good dose of angst that then will transition into a slow-burning story of our idiots finding each other again.
Someone in the SuperCorp Instagram community actually asked for a story that starts like this one, so here it is.
This is going to be angsty, but the sun will come out eventually.

Kara blinks up from the food to Lena’s chest—oops—before meeting Lena’s eyes. “Save you?” she says. “Haha. What. Like, uh, like Supergirl? Or whatever?”
“No, silly,” Lena says, smiling so fondly at her that it makes Kara a little lightheaded. “As my bodyguard, of course.”
“Oh right! That’s me!” Kara grins, puffing out her chest and clicking her heels and keeping her eyeline firmly above Lena’s shoulders. “At your service, ma’am. Ready to guard your—um.” She halts. “Your… body,” she finishes, flinching.

“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Lena.” Kara gives her an enormous smile.
“Likewise.” Lena smiles back, then takes a breath. “I hope this isn’t the last time we talk.”
“Me, either.”
Kara watches Lena go, sees her pause at the street, then dart across awkwardly in her heels. “Lena,” she says to herself, trying it out. She goes to take another bite of her hot dog and feels the ketchup drip from her thumb, dropping into her lap.

Kara Danvers is in a slump: she’s just been fired from her job as a producer for a local news show, and she can’t get a single call back from prospective employers.
