His eyes flick from Loki to the unconscious man in his grip. Now that his initial shock upon seeing his previously dead brother, Thor begins taking in the situation. What catches him off guard is how Loki is carrying the man taking great effort not to jostle him too much and the arm that stays protectively wrapped around his waist. “Loki...did you kidnap someone?”
“Kidnap is a rather brash way of putting it, don’t you think?” And there’s that silver tongue Thor has missed. Despite everything, his mouth pulls into a weary smile.
In which Thor finds family in the most unexpected of places with the Guardians, and reunites with his previously believed to-be-dead brother.

Except Loki did not kill the mortal. To Steve's utter surprise (and confusion, too) Loki went pale the second he saw the stranger, and suddenly all of his clones, that were attacking New York, as well as his cape, the horns, the green magic and the gold armor, disappeared in the blink of an eye. The look on Loki's face, as crazy as it sounded, was of a tamed house cat. Steve couldn't see an evidence of a deranged, dangerous and unstable God, that was Loki less than a minute ago, who demanded humankind's submission anymore. Ever since he saw the little grey haired man...

While trying to stop himself from falling, Chen had been flailing his arms in a desperate attempt to regain his balance. All his flailing manages to do, however, is smack his arm into one of the torches lining the wall. The force of his arm hitting the torch causes it to fall from its holder. Chen watches from the floor in horror as the torch falls, and somehow, somehow, on its way down, the flame touches the portrait of Fire Lord Sozin. Which then begins to catch fire. Chen feels like he’s watching everything happen in slow motion as the portrait is slowly being eaten up by flames. The portrait of Fire Lord Sozin is on fire holy shit.
Chen thinks he’s going to faint.
Or, times Fire Lord Zuko was nice and people were surprised, and one time everyone expected it.

“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.

“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]

An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.
