Summary
During her days of idolhood, glowing so brilliantly with shining lights and cheering fans and the proud thrum of the hon-moon each time she had slain another demon, Celine saw a future filled with vibrant gold for all of humanity.
Now, there’s no more spotlight to guide her way or adoring cheers filling her ears. The hon-moon is wounded, aching at no longer having one of its chosen hunters present in the world. All she has left is time.
But time is slow, and for now, all Celine can do is sit and think.

Summary
Rumi lets out a broken, disbelieving sob, staring at herself in the mirror. She’s meant to be fixed. She’s—her patterns are gone, they’re gone, but this isn’t...she didn’t want this. She didn’t want...
The honmoon glows golden underneath her feet. She can see the ripples spread up along the walls, carefully ebbing toward her. It stings when the honmoon wraps itself around her entire body, and Rumi can only watch as she’s engulfed by the light, staring at herself, unable to turn away. It feels like an embrace, but it’s cold and wrong, and it makes her tremble even harder, because the honmoon has never felt like that. Not to her.
Quietly, in the very back of her mind, a voice says, “This is what you asked for.”
(or, the au where rumi's patterns disappear after turning the honmoon gold, with severe, unexpected consequences)

Summary
"Heavy, ugly, all-consuming sobs overwhelm her instantly, leaving her shaking with effort. Any semblance of control vanishes, and she fights the urge to desperately crawl after it. Reminds herself there’s no need. Nothing more to lose.
It’s hard to put into words what’s behind the tears. Harder to say what isn’t. It’s everything. A boiling point for a lifetime of shame, of spending night after night terrified of waking up like this, overrun by evidence of her otherness.
In the calm and quiet of the morning, without the adrenaline and anguish turning her vision red, it’s as if she’s seeing them for the first time. Worse, in a way, because now she’s distinctly aware of every implication, even in victory. Freedom from her body doesn’t exist. Will never exist. They might accept her, might embrace her, but they’ll always look at her and know she’s different. Know she’s wrong.
Even if she wants to, she can never go back."
or, Rumi wakes up after the battle has ended and finds a more daunting one waiting for her: explaining herself to her girls.
