One day Clark wakes up a bit overstimulated and then proceeds to do superman stuff. But as the day goes he gets more and more overwhelmed. By the time the days evening JL meeting rolls in Clark can hear everything from the cars honking in the road bellow the JL towers to the humming of the meeting rooms light.
