    Since Crosshair’s recent and long-awaited return to their squad, Tech has found that treating him like one would a feral tooka has been relatively successful in getting the sniper to relax around him. Hunter had compared him to one such creature, long ago, when the end of the war was something they merely joked about, and while many things have changed since then, Tech has found that the resemblance is still striking.

    After a moment of stillness, Crosshair moves again, although he does not walk away as Tech half expected he would. Instead, he sits down right behind Tech, no space between them. Without thinking, Tech sits up a little straighter, so that more of his back comes into contact with Crosshair’s. He does not think he imagines the way Crosshair presses back just slightly.
