Izuku doesn’t reciprocate- if he did, then he wouldn’t have rejected Katsuki’s outstretched hand. And that was alright- some people just moved on. And why shouldn’t he? They’ve been doing this same song and dance for over two decades- since before their quirks came in. Izuku should have the right to pull away if he’s finally lost the beat.
Katsuki will just dance alone. And that’s ok. He’s strangely ok with this- at peace. Perhaps it’s because he’s expected this for years. That at some point he’s going to wake up one of these mornings spitting flower petals. He’s just always hoped no one would be around.

Katsuki had won. He laid on the ground, one fist in the air as he ached and bled and cheered for Izuku. Sure, he was probably dying from All For One’s last attack, but he won, so he deserved to rest his eyes for a second.
Did he get sent back in time somehow? Or…
He squinted at the walls, ran his hand over the railings. The windows showed blue skies and fluffy fucking clouds.
Was this heaven?
What sort of god would send anyone back to middle school?

Or a multiverse fic where:
Katsuki keeps dying.
He has more alternate lives than he can stomach, and somehow - still - not enough time with the Izuku he finds.

Gideon and Fabian Prewett, tied for #1 Uncle (according to the mugs they wielded with pride) had dreams of their wild successes as Aurors, winning honor and glory and infamy for their daring rescues of damsels in distress, wrangling monsters like the heroes of myths and legends.
