“I found a singer,” he said, elated. Ellie raised her eyebrows, prompting him to continue.
“Dina” he said, as if that meant anything to her. She made a face.
“Who?”
“She’s in my biology class,” he said, almost defeated. Then it clicked. Ah, this was the girl Jesse was into.
Ellie exhaled through her nose, a smile creeping up on her face as she stuffed a few books into her bag. “Can she really sing? Or are you just…biased?” She asked, knowing it would irritate him. That was exactly why she asked. He scoffed in response.
“Well, I was just talking about how the whole no-singer thing is freaking me out and she told me that she sings a little, so I told her to come by tonight.”
Ellie’s face showed how unimpressed she was. She gave him a leveling look, and sighed. “Alright,” she said. Jesse’s face morphed into one of surprise.
She’d give it a chance. It wasn’t like she had anyone in mind to replace Cat.
