Summary
“I love you,” Jimmy says, pulling on Timmy’s hair slightly.
Timmy falls forward, his hands falling from Jimmy’s neck and wrapping around his shoulders. He presses his head in the crook between Jimmy’s head and shoulder, trying his best to memorize the smell of cologne against his neck (it’s a futile attempt. He’ll forget within the hour). Jimmy kisses the side of his head.

Unfortunately, a wrong number text is all it takes for him to lose sight of what's important, permanently throwing his future off course.
But maybe this wrong number will open up a door that Jimmy has never even considered before.

Summary
“I’m dangerous!” Timmy cries, his voice cracking. He screams almost immediately afterward, his back arching in pain as he emits another wave of force. “I can’t control it.”
Danny is hit with a memory. He is fourteen, and he is wandering into a laboratory with a smile on his face. He is hit with the power of a machine that makes him cry as something happens to his body. He is all of a sudden here and not here. Alive and not alive. He is no longer a kid, but he is not necessarily something else.
And he cannot control this feeling. This urge to die.
Danny adjusts his grip on Timmy. He ignores the force that tries its hardest to blow him away. He ignores the heat that burns his hands. “We’re not leaving without you.”

Danny does not respond.
He grabs Danny’s cheek with gentle hands, looking upwards with a smile. He rubs his thumb against the bone, and Danny leans into the touch with a frown. Manny does not recognize the despair in those big, blue eyes of his. He hopes that it does not linger after tonight.
“What are you thinking about, mi amor?”

Danny and Manny are destined to dance the same waltz for all of eternity. It is a dance filled with elongated stares and lingering touches, soft words and love-filled stares that neither of them are accustomed to. It is a dance that they practice in the lobby of a headquarters, surrounded by their closest friends, and a dance that they practiced a hundred years before that.

He knows that the boy who stands in front of the crowd is wearing a dress shirt that came from Jimmy’s closet because he had completely forgotten about the Reaping Ceremony. He knows that the boy who stands in front of him is the third fastest runner in the sixth grade because he had thought that the faster he ran the more girls would like him. Jimmy knows that the boy that stands in front of him is alive and there and breathing.
Jimmy knows that if he doesn’t do anything, he will not know that boy for much longer.
“I volunteer!” He shouts, surprising even himself. “I volunteer as tribute.”

“I wouldn’t complain,” Timmy says with another innocent shrug of his shoulders. Jimmy shakes his head at his nonchalance, extremely fond for absolutely no reason. “I think saving Dimmsdale from dimensional distress could be a fun way to spend an afternoon. Way better than whatever we’re doing right now.”
“We’re saving Amity Park from dimensional distress,” Danny responds through the communicator in their ears, and Jimmy can tell that he is scolding Timmy with a smile on his face. “But, I have this really weird, indescribable, feeling that the two of you aren’t actually doing anything relevant to the mission. Which is really weird, because when I think of Jimmy and Timmy together, I don’t think of slacking-off at all. In fact, it’s probably the last word that—”
Jimmy presses his finger against the piece of metal in his ear with a familiar roll of his eyes. “Okay, we get it.”

“Illegal evil?” Jimmy repeats. “Is there even such a thing as ‘legal’ evil?”
“They actually typed out the winky-face at the end, too,” Cindy offers him an overexaggerated wink in response.
“This says that the reason it’s fifty percent off is because the designer never finished programming it,” Jimmy continues, because it’s just fault after fault with this game, somehow. “So. I guess you really do wish that there would be more time in Nickelodeonia.”
