Laura says that he’s over reacting, that the customers at Hale’s Grocery enjoy finding these “Store Tips” scattered around in random places. She says there’s no harm being done. She’s obviously not seeing how frustrating it is to have people playing games with his breadsticks! This is an adult zone! It’s a grocery store, not Chuckie Cheese or something!

She’s already half an hour late. Well, he assumes she is a she, her name is Malia, and he’s never met someone who identifies as male that calls themselves Malia, but then again, he shouldn’t make assumptions. Anyways, she was supposed to start today at 8am, which is when first shift starts. The store opens at 9, so that gives everybody an hour to make sure everything is ready for the day. Stiles is in the middle of re-stocking the display of men’s t-shirts when he spots this girl. She’s stunning, really, with kind of wild, long, brown hair and these big doe eyes and legs that seem to go on for days in the jean shorts she’s wearing. Stiles doesn’t think he’s ever seen a girl this hot in his entire life. Like holy fucking shit.
“What are you looking at?” She snaps, and Stiles flinches back. Shit, he was staring, but wow that was a little scary. Scary and arousing.

Summary
The calm of the afternoon is broken by the roar of what she thinks is a motorcycle coming down her street. She shifts until she can see over the porch rail, frowning slightly. The last she knew, nobody in her neighborhood even had a motorcycle, and this street wasn’t exactly popular with thru traffic. It’s not a motorcycle exactly, but a dirt bike, bright green with number 32 bold on the white plastics. The guy riding it is hot, that is apparent even with the helmet covering his face. He’s wearing a tight gray tank top, showing off tan, muscular arms and well defined shoulders. Lydia sits up a little straighter, beyond curious to see where this guy is going.
He pulls into the McCall’s driveway, knocking the kickstand down before setting his feet firmly on the ground. The helmet comes off in a smooth motion, and Lydia feels her jaw drop.

An anonymous tip was called into the sheriff’s station, complaining about some delinquent vandalizing a car at the high school. Derek’s only been a deputy for two weeks, but it’s already apparent that Stilinski (and Parrish, that asshole) finds some kind of sick pleasure in sending Derek out on these silly calls. Parrish claims that as the rookie, it’s only right to send Derek out. Derek just thinks that Stiles obviously got his annoying sense of humor from his father. And it shows all too much now that he sees the elder Stilinski on a daily basis. Regardless of his boss’s motives, he doesn’t have much of a choice. Which is why he’s currently creeping up the road in front of the dark high school parking lot in the cruiser he shares with Parrish.

She’s stretched out across Scott and Stiles’ couch, her head throbbing just enough to be an annoyance, her mouth dry and nasty and tasting of stale beer. Morning afters are the worst. Rubbing her eyes she locates the ringing phone, recognizing it as hers by the lime green case. She fumbles for it, groaning at the MOM flashing across the screen. He watches through the haze as Scott pulls off his shirt and lays flat on his back, giggling like an idiot when Stiles licks a long line up the side of his neck. Stiles’ obscene fingers curl around the salt shaker, white salt stark against Scott’s skin, other hand plucking a lime from the bowl sitting in front of Lydia and placing it between Scott’s teeth. “Stop laughing asshole,” Stiles demands, not able to follow the command himself as he attempts to fill Scott’s belly button was tequila. Scott’s still giggling, rivets of alcohol running across his abs and down the cut of his hips. Derek’s mouth begins to water as Lydia starts screeching at Stiles to get on with it. It’s both the best and worst thing Derek’s ever seen. Stiles lips sucking harshly against the column of Scott’s throat, the absolutely awful slurping as he sucks the tequila up, Scott’s laughter quieting when Stiles’ closes his mouth over his lips, biting at the lime but not pulling away nearly as fast as he should have. Derek’s jeans are feeling a little tight and there’s a part of him that wants them to keep going, wants to watch.

McCall is alright, he’s always been kind to Derek, annoyingly so. But with McCall comes Stilinski. And with Stilinski comes Derek’s soul crushing, decade long, horrible, no good, crush.

He’s a twenty six year old alpha now, no longer the kid wonder from high school. He’s got his own apartment too, in one of the buildings Derek bought and renovated when he returned like the prodigal son to Beacon Hills a few years ago. There’s still unpacked boxes scattered around the living room and bedrooms, serving as makeshift coffee tables for the beer bottles and soda cans and empty pizza boxes left over from the pack. The apartment feels empty now, lonely, without Malia’s bark like laughter and Stiles’ snide jokes and the quiet puffs of air Derek lets out when he tries not to laugh. Scott already misses the special smiles Lydia saves just for him, all soft and proud without any of the razor sharp edges they usually possess. He misses the warmth of Liam pressed against his side, the comical way Brett and Mason still flit around each other, how Kira looks at Malia like she’s her sun, moon and stars. They’re a mature pack now, at least that’s what Deaton says. They all subconsciously know where they fit, their roles. They’re established. Scott still not sure what to make of it, but right now all he knows is that he’s lonely.

Because that’s what they do, annoy each other. Or at least Derek pretends to be annoyed by Stiles’ awful pick-up lines and bad jokes and other awkward attempts at flirting. Sometimes he thinks Derek even flirts back, but he can’t really be sure. (Scott refuses to get involved after that one time Stiles kind of tricked him into telling him that Derek thought he was hot. “Have you seen his eyebrows man?” Stiles whispers, whipping around to find himself face to face with Scott. “Those are murder brows! I think he wants to kill me!” Scott raises his own completely unimpressed eyebrows and blows a bubble of what smells like spearmint gum right in his face (Stiles would know, he’s pretty sure Scott stole it out of his backpack).
“So you’re out here spying on him because…?” Scott’s doing that thing with his teeth and his bottom lip that can only mean horrible, no good things for Stiles. “I dare you to lick his mailbox.”
It’s Stiles turn to look unimpressed, and he hopes that his expression clearly communicates how horrible he thinks Scott is right now.
“What is the matter with you? No way.” He crosses his arms and shakes his head. “That would be the worst idea you’ve ever had.”Or: Stiles licks Derek's mailbox. That's it. That's the story.
