Summary
Eddie realizes in stages: the man’s slings look professional even if they’re made out of cast-off fabric from God knows where. The boy is wearing a striped shirt. The man’s leg is stiff, like Buck always denies his still gets sometimes and his brain gets caught on the word Buck, plays it over and over, and if he thinks the word and after that name he’s going to have to fall to his knees and never get up again.
Buck doesn't lose Chris in the tsunami, but as a result, he injures both of his arms. Eddie brings him home, and discovers that he wants him to stay.

There’s a body on the floor, blood pooling. “Did you kill Spalding? He was mine to kill, I’ll have you know. I came for his, but I’ll take it out of your hide if I have to.” It only nets him a gulping swallow and a hasty grip adjustment as the navy man tries to stop the shaking. He truly looks done in, almost worse than the corpse on the floor. Spalding always was a fucker. “A man of few words, I see. A shame— I've been known to enjoy a witty repartee now and again, grants a greater picture of a fellow’s character. And I hate to kill a man whose name I don’t know.”

“Ugh,” Kakashi sighs loud before turning quick and sharp in Guy’s grasp so they face each other, only to absolutely slam his face against Guy’s chest. If Guy were a lesser man it might hurt, but as is, he just laughs at his Rival’s antics, even as said rival curls his fist tight on Guy’s bare waist, “I’m trying to sleep, be quiet.”
“But Kakashi,” Guy actually whispers this time, jaw moving against the top of Kakashi’s head, “You are in my bed.”
Or, 5 times Kakashi fell asleep on Guy and one time Guy understood.
