For those of you who don’t know: Zhongli is a really casual ASMR/Just Chatting Streamer! He usually just infodumps for hours on his stream, and it’s actually pretty relaxing lol
He also plays some games like Slime Crossing New Horizons or MineKraft occasionally

Tartaglia the pro gamer was notoriously brutal, merciless, and bloodthirsty. He only played to win, and his records single handedly boosted his team, The Harbingers, to more victories than ever in the history of the team before he signed on. On his streams, he only ever played the most violent and intense games. He had openly scoffed at requests for him to play cutesy life simulation games, and he never bothered to hide his distaste for chatting on streams when he could be fighting another boss battle. Tartaglia was all war, no pandering, which lead to quite a polarized fan base. His fellow Harbingers disliked him, the feelings were (publicly) returned, and people who saw his streams either hated him or loved him. It helped that when Tartaglia wasn’t being a feral monster, he came off as quite a flirt to the fans. His handsome face didn’t hurt either. But even with a hoard of simps, his fans knew better than to expect coddling from the Harbinger. Tartaglia’s one true love was winning fights in video games, and nothing, not even a high-level boss no one had ever beat before could phase him.
His civilian identity of Childe, on the other hand, was nothing but a kind of unhinged panicked gay who had too much mora and not enough social sense. Therefore, when he was led to the Gay Panic Inducing discovery of Mr. Hot Infodump Guy, Childe’s brain cells immediately flew out the window.
“Well, that was way too easy, how boring. Don’t know why you all hyped up Dvalin’s final boss fight so much. SwinterSwag thank you for the 500 gift subs. Hmm let’s look at chat for bit now I guess.”
Childe hummed and leaned closer to the screen as his chat exploded into a flurry of comments.
“Godofexplosions asked who my favorite celebrity is. Well, call me a bit old school but my all-time fave has always been Rex Lapis’ run of OSIAL way back in the day! I’ve always wanted to verse that guy…Ah but I guess he might not count as a celebrity since no one knows where he went huh?”
Childe chuckled, but the glint in his eyes was just a smidge frightening.
“PanteneLoans said ‘You finished that battle too fast now I have to decide between your stream and Zhongli’s cries’”
“Eh? Who is this Zhongli and why is he stealing my viewers?” Childe laughed. Zhongli…he had never heard of anyone on the pro-gaming scene by that name. Perhaps a new competitor he could crush?
A new wave of pings from his chat cut off his train of thought. “He’s streaming right now, goes by MoralessMorax? Well, let’s check this out then.”
Childe quickly pulled up a new tab on his monitor and searched for this rival streamer. His hopes of finding a new rival were immediately crushed when the stream loaded to show a slender man with a deep voice rambling on about Liyuen versus Mondstatian dragon lore. The man had a god-tier sharp jawline, plump peachy colored lips, and silky black hair dipped in amber. His voice rumbled into the mic in the most soothing manner. And, the final nail on the coffin, his eyes glowed like the purest of cor lapis shards, enhanced by the smallest smudge of eyeliner.
Childe felt his face burn as the rapid fire pinging of his chat faded into oblivion. This man was just so….pretty. Insanely pretty. He was officially a fan. He took back everything he ever said against ASMR and Just Chatting streamers.
Subconsciously, Childe’s lips parted as he stared intently at his screen. An unbidden mutter slipped past his lips. “……hot.”
His chat went absolutely wild, but the man himself didn’t notice, too entranced by what was on his screen.
Within an hour of Tartaglia’s stream ending that day, the fans had already started an absolutely tidal wave of shipping content. Tags were trending, videos were clipped, and the beginning of a new era for Tartaglia’s streaming career had officially set off. Some of Zhongli’s fans also caught on, and a genre defying collaboration never before seen between such different fanbases was born. Teyvat was about to see an entire Internet revolution, and neither Childe nor Zhongli were aware.
All Childe could think of at that moment, as he lay in bed staring at his ceiling, was how he could get closer to the pretty infodump man.
