Summary
They always imagined it would be harsh and firm. Rough like calloused feet after a lifetime of walking barefoot, or perhaps stinging like skin burned under a blistering summer sun. Instead, it’s anything but. It’s the softness of a breeze, the coolness of a river running through a shaded landscape. In Sokka’s hands are the lulling push and pull of ocean tides. All Toph can do is follow the ebb as their body is transformed to sea glass, the once achingly sharp and jagged edges smoothing under his gossamer touch.
Toph is miserable with their first moon cycle, and Sokka helps relieve the pain.

Summary
It’s been three years since Vecna’s defeat. Will has moved on. Gotten a boyfriend & is waiting on an acceptance letter from NYU to get into art school.
Mike, suffering from the loss of Eleven, is dealing with grief in totally, healthy, normal ways. By shutting himself out, from everyone, except Will.
But, he doesn’t tell Will anything. Will just knows. Because he’s Will. These two boys navigate their past traumas together drawing them closer then ever before.
Will’s boyfriend isn’t typically the jealous type, but when he figures out there a huge secret between them that he doesn’t know, he starts to wonder. Leaving a triangle of unknowns. Which we all know, never ends well. For anyone.

“Ask next time,” Mike says.
“What?” Will stops halfway through his awkward attempt to climb across Mike’s mattress and get out of the room. He wouldn’t get very far anyway, with Mike blocking the doorway.
Close enough to be an obstacle in his way, Mike meets Will’s green eyes and flushed cheeks, trying to be more direct about what he’s demanding.
“So this doesn’t happen again. Ask next time.”

“'Cause your bed is comfy,” Mike slurred his words. “And…‘cause I missed you.”

Will learned at an early age that it doesn't matter how much energy he puts into wanting something if it wasn't meant to be his. And the reality is that most things weren't meant to be his. That's just how it went.
That didn't stop him from wasting the energy anyway. Couldn't beat the hopeless romantic out of him for anything.
Hot tears slip from the corners of Will's eyes. They roll past his temples and sink into his hair.
Oh, he loves Mike. He loves him so much he can hardly breathe.
Will is ruined. He's Mike's to have, always has been.
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me," Mike mumbles against the crook of his neck.
Will strokes his hair, his chin trembling. This is what it feels like to get everything he's ever wanted.
"I couldn't agree more."
