Then, he crosses paths with Luke Skywalker (again; they actually converse this time) and wonders if, maybe, he wants... more.

While Din Djarin has been many things, talkative has never been one of them, so all he manages is a ragged “Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum,” before he reaches for his helmet and pulls it over his head.
Of all of the reactions he expected Luke to have, panic was not one of them.

Summary
A day dreamed drabble:
Din Djarin has settled into his place as Mand'alor prepared to raise his son. When A political marriage is suggested and he decides to ask the Jedi for his hand, he is pleasantly surprised. But that's a story for another time. This is several years after their marriage. Mandalore is thriving, and Lukes school has it's first students. But when an unmarked vessel is spied and in turn the signs of a fight on Ahch-To, where Luke departed to teach that morning, Din races to find the two missing members of his clan.
When the children inform him that Master Skywalker handed himself over to protect them, Din decides it means war.
The Republic learns quickly why he's a better friend than foe, and the true ferocity in which the Mandalorian people protect their own. Din sets out on a warpath to find his lover and the Galaxy learns that the placid king of Mandalore treads in the dark as readily as he chases the light.
