As tortured as poets were in fiction, the platinum-haired man wasn’t an exception ; feelings were clear to him. What he felt deep down was even clearer than this cyan sea separating Liyue from Inazuma, separating them —
Someone as attuned with nature immediately understood the reasons behind such longing whenever they were apart.
They were friends, but only in his dear friend’s eyes.
They were partners at best, the greatest duo you could ask for in terms of investigations.
But the problem lay here ; his dear friend wasn’t just a dear friend, the closest thing he could be would be his deer friend.
Those promises of the greatest Detective of Inazuma catching the criminal ronin he was back then were actually true.
Shikanoin Heizou did the unthinkable exploit of stealing the poetic heart of Kaedehara Kazuha.

Though I must say, I possess a pile of other cases on my shoulders that come off as much more enticing than hunting down another fella’s vision, in all honesty.”

or: To put it in simple terms, Heizou senses no kind of interest in taking part in the vision hunt decree’s orders. Which he successfully avoided for months on end by rarely showing up to the station.
Once he did, though, he was caught on a case where no clear path appeared before him to escape. One where he ought to find and arrest a well known fugitive.
Which he’d assumed would be easy, like every arresting order he came to have in his years as a Doushin. What he wouldn’t predict, nonetheless, was for said fugitive to pick at his interest instead. Going undercover and bearing a different name, Heizou found himself in a case to know more about the man rather than indulge in his task.

Heizou finds himself tied in a knot while trying to solve a horrific case. One that leaves Heizou vulnerable and determined enough that he ignores his own needs (like always) but this time, it leads to a never ending nightmare and someone else's treasure.
No one realizes it until it's too late.
