With the Watchtower having to undergo even more renovations (wonder why that is), the team had been told it might be a few weeks before the building could be livable, at least not without hearing endless workers putting in overtime. Val rebranded this situation as giving them time to get their affairs in order and pack up what they’d need for when they all moved in.
“It’s a blessing in disguise, guys, I’m sure that most of you have stuff to bring in,” she said with her tight smile that screamed I’m trying to not get mad because now we have to work together, “so, this gives you all time to go get a U-Haul and break those leases! Mel will contact you once we have the OK to have you all start moving in. Until then, don’t show up on the news… At least not for anything bad. Sometimes, not all press is good press.”AKA, Bob stays with John while renovations finish on the Watchtower.

Summary
Bob had a new hobby. It all started when, at a thrift store he went to with the girls, he found an old Polaroid camera.
Surprisingly it worked. He just needed a few cartridges and he could start taking pictures.
His teammates were soon putting his photos everywhere.
Alexei had a photo of himself and Yelena stuck in the bathroom mirror, along with an old photo of Natasha.
They had put a photo of the entire team in a frame in Bucky's room.
He complained, of course, but surprisingly he hadn't taken it down yet.
The mirror in Yelena's little vanity was now filled with photos of her with Bob and Ava. There were also a couple of photos of John, one of her father, and one of the entire team.
The same was for Ava's locker in the locker room of their small gym.
The rest of the photos were tacked to the wall in Bob's room.
He had attached strings to the wall and started pinning the photos he liked the most with small, colorful wooden clothespins.
Or so he thought. He didn't know how many photos John had actually hidden.

Summary
The last thing Bob remembered was making a glass explode with the sheer will of his mind and then everything became a total blank. Next thing he knew, he had been practically adopted by The New Avengers and was living in the Watchtower with his newfound friends. Life began to get good and his relationship with each member improved to the point where he could confidently call every single one of them a friend.
And then one day, out of the blue, a memory trickled in, one of John F. Walker bashing his dad in the face with a shield and knocking him out. The memory shouldn't have made Bob blush or fixate on how hot Walker looked in the moment, but it did and he had to do something to let the man know just how thankful he was.
So of course he kissed him.
"Um... uhhh... wh-what?"
Bob smiled brightly, feeling way too good now to even care about being embarrassed or flustered. "That was for knocking the shit out of my dad back in the void. I just remembered it."
"Oh."Or, Bob thanks John with a kiss and it just keeps happening.

“Interesting. Let me see.” He shoved the flowers into her arms a little harder than he intended to. A small wave of satisfaction ran through him when a few of the petals fell on the floor. What was wrong with him? “That’s strange. Nothing identifiable. You don’t think he has a stalker, do you?”
“No. Who would— Who would be obsessed with Walker like that?”
On Valentine's Day, fans flood the tower with gifts and cards for John. Bob is not happy about this.

For example, he takes his coffee blacker than his soul. And now he's at an age where one can't last the whole day, like when he was 20. Certain stupid, corny movies aren't so corny after all. And even if he'll never admit it, he'll never understand why he always ends up glued to the TV every time the girls and Bob watch one of their usual stupid reality shows.
At almost 40 he also realized that he wasn't all that straight after all.

John never thought of himself as talented.
Growing up in rural Georgia, there wasn't much around but the school and the Chevron gas station up a few miles from his house that he would park his dad's old two-seater truck at and squint at who was working the counter through the window before heading inside. His buddy, Shawn, wouldn't ID him for the Kodiak dip if he paid in cash and let the guy take a few dollars off the top.
His high school wasn't anything special either. Mostly outdoor and the majority of funding going towards the football field— not that he ever cared as he was the captain of the football team anyways. He was always fascinated during the shows the band did halfway through the games. The loud instruments, the formations, the flying flags, even the uniforms had him curious.
John's father told him once that he would rather have a pathetic football player son than a faggot trumpet player one. He never brought up joining the school's band again.or,
