Flins is certain (correctly) that Illuga would entertain, if he may be so bold, intimate relations with himself. So why does his young master keep running away every time they get anywhere?
Illuga is certain (incorrectly) that Flins is the type to want to take charge in the bedroom. Unfortunately, so is Illuga, and he hasn’t quite figured out the best way to broach this issue yet. As brave as the golden nightingale is, sometimes a tactical retreat is in order.
Fortunately for them both, they figure it out in the end.

Forming the words slowly, saying them softly, Flins murmured, "Yes. If what I want changes… then I, too, shall change. In fact, I have changed. I have been changing."
At that, Illuga looked up. "Ah? You have? But you look the same. How have you been changing? Why?"
Illuga was looking at him. Therefore, Flins could not help but to smile again, to curl the corners of his lips up and to soften the glow of his eyes. "Why?" said he. "Because of you, young master.
"If this body has been changing, it is because of you."
Flins' humanoid form is borne of his thoughts, his feelings, his desires. And if his desires change, so too does that form.

"What do you think it is to be human?” Flins asks, slow and deliberate, fingers tracing the rim of his drink.
“To be human is to feel,” Illuga says, definitively. “To be human is to hurt, to bleed, to cry. And then wake up the next day and do it again. Wake up a thousand times and do it again, knowing that the pain doesn’t stop.”
Flins’ gaze is piercing. “Why?”
“Because if we can still feel pain, we can still feel joy.”
Illuga thinks he knows what it means to be human. He has a few things to learn.
