“You’re a nerd, Munson,” Steve said on instinct. Eddie’s face broke out into a toothy grin.
“That’s what you always say,” he laughed, and then ducked his head a little. “In that same tone, too. I swear to God, it’s so obvious where Henderson got all his moves from. I’m sure I’ll think of something,” Eddie said. “There’s a lot that’s happened in ten years, man. But help me up first, I want to get breakfast going, alright?”

Summary
There’s this guy in Steve’s third period English class who won’t stop staring at him, and at first he thinks that he’s trying to pick a fight.
“That’s just Eddie Munson,” Carol informs him while picking delicately at her own cuticles. “He’s not trying to fight you, Steve. He’s just a creep. The best thing you can do is ignore him.”
Steve doesn’t know about all of that, but he supposes Carol’s right about one thing: Eddie Munson is not trying to fight Steve. He just stares a lot. And he doesn’t even look away when Steve catches him and they lock eyes. He just burrows further into his arms and raises a thin, pierced eyebrow.
It's the end of senior year and Eddie Munson won't stop staring. Robin Buckley does not get paid enough to deal with this shit. Steve Harrington plays board games with middle schoolers. He is also apparently in a long-term relationship with both of his best friends; he does not know this.

Summary
Harrington, completely oblivious to Eddie’s entire world crashing down around him, stretches so that his shirt rides up. It exposes a mole on his lower back, and Eddie snaps his pencil right in half.
Eddie startles at the noise it makes, then admires how cleanly his pencil broke, and then he realises the class has gone quiet.
A few kids turn to shoot him a look, including Harrington, so Eddie does the only logical thing he can do: he propels out of his seat and jumps out of the open window.

Summary
Clearly he has some sort of secret admirer, and it feels like high school, when girls would slip unsigned notes into his locker but inevitably reveal themselves when they ran out of patience or realized he wasn’t actively looking for whoever left the note. But this person, they’ve waited a month—and they still give no indication as to who they are.
It makes Steve want to know.
