Summary
"Up, sweetheart, up," Jeremy tells Jean in his nicest voice, just to watch the way Jean obediently and eagerly adjusts himself on Jeremy's lap so he has better access. "C'mon. Good boy."
There's something addictive about Jean's willingness to do anything Jeremy asks if he just says it in a sweet enough way. Jeremy is hardly one to judge when he's walking around every day with a praise kink of his own, but Jean's proclivity to being sweet talked in bed was such a delightful surprise that Jeremy doesn't think he's ever going to get over.
Jeremy takes care of a lapful of needy submissive Jean.

Summary
Jean blinks rapidly as Jeremy starts to climb out of bed. Jeremy’s little gold shorts hike up as he bends, reminding Jean why he can’t actually be that annoyed that Jeremy always wears them despite how hideous they are. The fabric pinches against the flesh of his thighs right above one of the little marks Jean left there last night. The shorts also do absolutely nothing to hide the tent in his pants.
Before he can second guess himself, Jean reaches out and grabs Jeremy’s wrist. Jeremy startles, one leg fully on the floor and looking back at Jean in confusion.
“Can I watch?” Jean asks.
Jean isn't feeling up for sex but still wants to watch Jeremy get off.

Summary
“Where are you driving?” Jean asks.
Jeremy blinks, like he’s only just realizing he’s the one behind the wheel. “What?”
“Right now,” Jean says. “Where are we going?”
Jeremy’s mouth opens and closes before he glances up at the road signs passing overhead. His lips twist.
“I don’t know,” he admits.
Jean studies Jeremy’s profile closely.
“Drive somewhere you wish you were,” Jean tells him after a moment.
Jeremy shoots him a surprised look out of the corner of his eye.
“You asked,” Jean says briskly. “I am answering. Ignore me if you do not like it.”
“You’re not very easy to ignore,” Jeremy says. Jean swallows, glancing back out his window quickly.
The pressure of Jeremy's homelife starts to get to him and Coach Rhemann sends him on a drive to clear his head. Jean goes with him.
Or: Jean, Jeremy, the ocean, and the desire to take care of someone you love.

Summary
Jean ends up wandering the apartment trying to imagine what it’ll look like after six months of being there. Jab trots behind him like a little shadow, sniffing at corners and occasionally sneezing. He seems to be handling the move well so far, at least.
“Does it feel weird?” Jeremy asks, leaning against the kitchen island and watching with eyes that Jean can feel even with his back turned.
“A little,” Jean admits.
Jeremy tilts his head to the side and fresh blonde hair falls into his eyes. He looks frustratingly beautiful, even more than usual, but Jean’s not sure how much of that is the touched-up hair and how much of it is knowing he has his own place with this man. “Bad weird? Good weird?”
“Good weird,” Jean says easily, and that makes Jeremy’s dimples appear.
Jean signs with California after graduating from USC and moves into a new apartment with Jeremy down in San Diego. The realization of how much future they suddenly have hits both of them.

Summary
“Stay,” Jean says suddenly. “Don’t go anywhere.”
“At the party?” Jeremy asks, amused.
Jean rubs his cheek against him again. It’s a silly habit he only ever seems to do when he’s very sleepy or very drunk. Then he stops, still resting against Jeremy’s jacket. When Jean looks up at Jeremy, he remembers just how big and sad Jean’s eyes can get when he really turns them on him.
“Stay with me,” Jean whispers. “Don’t go back to San Diego.”
Jeremy comes home between games with his professional team and takes care of Jean when he drinks at a party. It turns out they both miss each other more than they've been admitting.

Summary
Today’s been an exhausting day, and Jean knows he’s at his limit. Sometimes, the yawning endlessness of things to do and people to talk to and choices to make paralyzes him. Sometimes, he yearns for someone to take charge and decide in his stead. Sometimes, his biggest failsafe is to ask for help before backslides into the toxic behaviors of existing as someone else’s property.
Thankfully, he knows better, now.
He texts Jeremy, Can you get me out of my own head tonight? because that’s something he does now, reaching out to his well-established support system instead of shouldering the entirety of his trauma on his own. Positive reinforcement is a hell of a thing, because he is rewarded immediately by the lifeline that arrives immediately in his inbox: Of course.

Summary
“How’s your pain?” Jeremy asked. Jean brought his hand up, tilting it back and forth in a so-so motion. Jeremy frowned. “Usually this bad?”
“Usually does not happen at all,” Jean shrugged. “I am managing.”
Jeremy paused, as if thinking. He turned to make sure the women were still busy, and Jean mused that they were practically making out at this point, but his thoughts came to a grinding halt when Jeremy leaned beside his ear. His breath was hot on Jean’s cheek as he spoke in quiet French.
Jean’s head spun; this time, not from the pain. I could help you, if you wanted.
“Oh, and how is that, Jeremy?”
“I can show you tonight,” he offered casually. “After Cat and Laila go to bed?”
Jean forced himself to retain eye contact and ignore the growing feeling in his abdomen. He hummed. “We’ll see.”
Or, for the first time since leaving the Nest, Jean gets his period; Jeremy offers to help.

Summary
Finally, Jean shifts. “The psychiatrist,” he starts, then stops, and Jeremy’s eyes go wide. “He told me that I…I need to stop associating the water with negative things. We are working on that during my sessions.”
“Okay,” says Jeremy softly. “Is there anything, ah, good? Positive? That would help you in there?”
Jean looks pained. “Yes, but I cannot ask that of you.”
Jeremy stares at him. Then he realizes what Jean means.

Summary
Jean wonders, briefly, what he is supposed to do now. He thinks about Jeremy going into that empty room with someone else. He thinks about them pinning Jeremy to Derrick’s useless bed. He thinks about the brown of Jeremy’s eyes being the only visible color through the mass of dark air, how close they would be.
He was right. This is a stupid game.
Then the bottle stops, and Jean recenters.
It’s pointing right back at him.
At the Trojans’ end of semester party, Jean and Jeremy get paired for a game of seven minutes in heaven.

Summary
“Come here,” he urges.
“Come here,” he says, smiling slowly as Jean’s lashes flutter at the suggestion.
“Come here, on me,” he hears himself blurt out, half delirious.
