“Are you really going to call that guy?” He asks, sounding a little too vulnerable for his own liking.
It’s dark, he can’t see Chan’s face but he can feel the rise and fall of Chan’s chest against his own.
“I think so.” Chan says. “It’s been a while since I've been on a date. It might be nice.”
Seungkwan wants to roll his eyes, tell Chan that dates aren’t anything special, that it’s nothing the two of them can’t do together.
Who wants to go to dinner or see a movie with a stranger? Seungkwan doesn’t understand the appeal of it all.
He and Chan have movie nights and get dinner together and it’s a million times more fun than it would have been with any potential boyfriend.
But something in Chan’s tone gives him pause. It’s soft, a little wishful.
“Then you should call him.” Seungkwan says, soft.

Gyuvin frowns. “They think I’m bullying him?”
“They think a lot of things,” she says. “Some of them think you’re fighting. Some of them think you’re dating. Some of them think you’re doing alpha fanservice with a beta member, which I should not have to explain is a terrible idea. And some of them–”
“And some of them what?” Gyuvin asks.
The manager closes the tablet case. “Some of them are asking why you act like you know something they don’t.”
Ricky is a beta. Gyuvin doesn't treat him like one.

Summary
The summer after tenth grade would be different. Not any different for Seungkwan — the heatwaves and long trips to go to the east coast beaches were simply routine. He was well practiced in wearing lots of SPF, though he'd still end up burning in places he thought the sun couldn't reach. Most of all, his job in his family's fields was a lot easier because they had sprinklers to water the trees, not to mention the rain that showed up every other day. He wouldn't have to tire his back muscles from constantly grabbing and picking plump oranges, like he would during the entire other half of the year.
Seungkwan wasn't worried about the summer. Hansol was.
And yet, Hansol never had a more fun summer in his 16 years of life.
Seungkwan and Hansol have a rough start to their relationship. Once they get going, neither of them know how to stop.
