Summary
Winter adjusted her grip on the sledgehammer. Twisted her hands, one higher than the other. The door was pretty. It was a shame she had to get through.
Metal crushed into wood. It splintered easily, gave way, crumbled under force. Another hit, and a hole opened. A third, and a hand flew out, a blur, and grabbed Winter’s sledgehammer by the neck. It clung on, knuckles white and grip shivering in fear. Neat nails. Shiny skin.
Winter yanked her weapon out of the foreign appendage. She stepped back, and the door swung violently, whooshing as the arc nearly knocked into her head. A man stumbled out, eyes crazed, teeth clenched, nose wrinkled at the bridge in a snarl.
Survival is ugly, Winter thought, leveling her weapon.

Summary
“Don’t mind the dogs,” Seungmin says, squeezing out his sponge. Bubbles drip down his fingers, the bone of his wrist, plinking as they hit the bottom of the metal basin. “They get loud after nightfall.”
Chan stays quiet.
Seungmin pauses his scrubbing. “You okay?” He turns around, fully expecting Chan to be perusing through his spices, poking and prodding at the labels. Organizing them by alphabetical order, maybe.
Instead, Chan stares straight ahead, at Seungmin’s closed gingham curtains. They shiver the slightest bit, even though he swears he closed the windows tightly and flipped the latch. It’s a requirement these days, as summer curls into fall and the biting winds threaten to break the seal around his entrances.
“Seungminnie,” he says, carefully blank, eyes hollow. “I don’t think those are dogs.”
[Or: There’s something lurking in the woods behind Seungmin’s house. He’s going to find out what it is.]

Summary
Fact one—Changbin and Hyunjin have been playing chicken for the past five years. Calling each other wives, wolf-whistling at one another, the whole nine yards. It’s sickening, and also, incredible entertainment.
Fact two—In three days’ time, their friend group is going on their annual lake trip. Hours spent crammed into a car together for a road trip. Then, lounging around during the dog days of summer at the lake ignoring their work and life responsibilities in favor of endless barbecue, swimming, and dumb drinking games. Eight people, five days, and far too much free time.
Fact three—There’s an unspoken rule. What happens on the lake trip stays on the lake trip. Deep talks, embarrassing accidents, and something Seungmin has never participated in: hookups.
[Or: Seungmin plays matchmaker. Minho is amused]

Summary
“What happened? I can’t promise not to get mad at you if I don’t even know what you did.”
“I, uh, listen, it’s now what you think, and I have a reason why I did it—”
Jeongin is not amused. “Spit it out, Hyunjin.”
Hyunjin squirms in his seat, and averts his eyes. Very quickly, he says, “I might’ve told Byeonggi I already replaced him.” He cringes. “With you.”
Slowly, the pieces click together in Jeongin’s head.
“He thinks we’re—” Hyunjin tries to explain.
“—Dating?” Jeongin says incredulously.
[Or: Hyunjin spots his ex boyfriend at the drive-in theater. Jeongin decides to help] -

Summary
In the past couple of years, Seungmin has discovered that his favorite activity is to rile up his friends until they explode in a reaction. It’s a scientific experiment, he reasons. An exploration to figure out which friend will react the strongest, conducted from a series of quantitative tests. It’s a ranking system, a source of intel, and an opportunity to strengthen his note-taking skills, all in one.
There’s hardly anything that brings Seungmin more joy than conducting scientific studies.

Summary
Those eyes, tinted honey-gold in the fluorescent light, tired and so achingly familiar. Hyunjin stops breathing. “Seungmin?” he asks, voice croaking with disbelief, and the man freezes.
Time slows. When Hyunjin breathes in, it’s syrup in his lungs.
By chance, Hwang Hyunjin and Kim Seungmin run into one another at an airport. Some things have changed; some things haven't.

mantis takes advantage of the weird airport limbo in such a good way... the reality of an early early morning is so malleable and it's so seungjin...

Summary
When Jeongin pulls back Seungmin’s head is yanked up, and in his confusion Seungmin tries to sit up and their foreheads bash into each other and the room is filled with groans and slurred “ouch”s.
Seungmin realises what’s happened when he’s staring into Jeongin’s wide eyes only an inch from his own, because of course what should be an urban myth would happen between the two of them. One of the brackets of his braces must have caught on Jeongin’s, wires tangled, and neither of them can move far apart enough to work out how to untangle it.

Summary
Seungmin takes a deep breath, almost a sigh. “You wanna do me a favor, Jeongin?”
“Depends on the favor,” he says immediately, deadpan.
“You wanna take my virginity?”
Jeongin blinks rapidly. He scrutinizes Seungmin, trying to figure out if this is a joke. Then, sensing that it very much isn’t, he shrugs and says, “Yeah, sure.”
Sometimes getting rid of your V-card means you have to be in cringy, embarrassing love with your best friend.

Summary
Because Minho’s life sucks, STRAY KIDS I.N FUNNY/CLUMSY MOMENTS COMPILATION #3 🤣 continues to play. In the video, Jeongin groans throatily as he drops a camera. In his lap, Minho’s dick twitches. In the doorway, Jisung points and guffaws. It’s full-bodied, so sudden he launches into a coughing fit that miraculously doesn’t stop him. Even as his eyes water he keeps pointing, his tongue sticking out like a toddler as he wheezes. Minho imagines cutting it out of his mouth. Instead, he settles for rolling stiffly onto his side to face the wall, because it feels less awkward than taking his sticky hand off his dick. He never got around to pulling his pants all the way down anyway, so at least like this he isn’t mooning Jisung. The moon… that’s a good idea. Minho can rocket launch himself there to never be seen again.
“Oh, god,” Jisung says, fighting to catch his breath as he holds himself up against the doorframe. “Oh. Hyung. Wow. That’s crazy. Is- don’t tell me it’s him dropping things. It can’t be! You’d die of chafing. Is it-? Oh my god, is it the noises? Jeonginnie’s silly old man noises?”
(Minho gets off to Jeongin's silly noises. It's supposed to be a secret.)

"Chan and Seungmin return with lunch to find Minho pinning Jisung to the floor in the middle of the room as Jisung screams, “HIS DICK IS TOUCHING ME IT’S TOUCHING ME HIS BONER IS ON ME!” with no regard for the fact they’re at work."
