Rules on the wall harden into law; dinner, tea, and “goodnight” are recast as rituals of obedience; even ordinary objects remember how to hold, how to tighten. The Master presides like an impeccable host, and the house listens.

    And because she dares to be the Doctor in a woman’s body, every courtesy is twisted into a lesson about what she is allowed to be: mirrors refuse her face; familiar voices are bent into erasure. Under the weight of “home,” speech narrows to breath; breathing becomes counting; survival becomes ritual. This is domesticity as horror, patriarchal control, and coercion dressed as etiquette—not a triumph, but an endurance.

    Yet even in the darkest rooms, one truth remains beyond his reach: she is still the Doctor, and she is NOT his to keep.

    This is a very dark story containing non-consent, violence, gore, torture, death and the Master being very evil. This is not a happy story, lots of people get hurt and the Doctor is having a very bad time indeed. Heed all the warnings and tags.

    Set during the Year That Never Was, the Thirteenth Doctor is held prisoner along with her friends on the Valiant. The Master (Dhawan) is delighted to have her at his mercy and wants so much more from her than she can give. How will she cling on to hope in a hopeless situation? How will she cope knowing the Master, who used to be her closest friend, was capable of such horrific acts?
