Marlena Hallwinter often joked that the only way to find good help was to raise it yourself. Then she’d pat one of her boys on the cheek, and whoever she was talking too- bakers or store clerks or people about town- would laugh. A little nervously, maybe, but they’d let themselves believe the simpler interpretation of her turn of phrase.
And if whispers about the too-thin figures that lurched through the Hallwinters’ fields in the early morning reached some high-minded city folks or daring do-gooders, well, Marlena had +5 to persuasion and a (figuratively) killer peach cobbler that usually smoothed things over. Cycle 36, day 6
We’ve finally found a sign of civilization, as well as plausible evidence that we are all blind idiots. As we flew over yet more icy foothills, Merle (Of all of us!) noticed that one of the mounds appeared to be smoking. Under more careful examination we realized that these ‘foothills’ were actually snowed-covered buildings, meaning it is quite likely the other foothills we’ve seen the past few days were also actually buildings.
We, the best and brightest of our deceased world, saviors of multiple realities, the last and only line of defense against the relentless malevolence of the Hunger, wasted nearly a week looking for signs of life when there were entire cities directly under our hull. At the risk of sounding pessimistic, I think this world may be fucked.

Shen Qingqiu was fucked, literally, because Shang Qinghua once had the brilliant idea of writing several chapters involving a tradition in the demon realm: a meeting of the most powerful lords, where they would be accompanied by their concubines as a demonstration of strength and pride. And since Shang Qinghua was addicted to writing pornography, there were obviously papapa scenes throughout the entire meeting.
In the original novel, Shen Qingqiu clearly remembered how Luo Binghe was accompanied by seven beautiful wives to satisfy him during such an event. However... in this life... Luo Binghe's only wife was Shen Qingqiu.
Or: shen qingqiu gets fucked by luo binghe in front of other demons during an important meeting.
