Summary
Steve Harrington, Dustin thought, was weird. Dustin knew weird, too, better than most people. He lived weird. His friend got kidnapped by a monster from another dimension. He watched a girl flip a van with her mind, then vanish into ash upon killing the monster previously mentioned. Even smaller than that, Dustin was just a weird person, so he could identify the strange in the world blindfolded, in the middle of a hurricane, wearing sound canceling headphones.
All that to say, when he saw Steve Harrington, something inside Dustin recognized whatever Steve was made of. A sort of Like calling to Like. Whatever it was inside Dustin, it stood up and took notice. So, yeah, Dustin paid attention to Steve Harrington, because the so-called Golden Boy was a puzzle that he just had to figure out.
