Summary
Tadashi drops to the floor with a quiet thud, shrugging off his backpack. He leans back on his palms and stretches his legs out in an easy sprawl—entirely too relaxed for someone responding to a crisis.
“So,” he says, tilting his head up at Kei, “what’s your plan?”
This time, Kei does scoff.
“I’m going to fuck Kuroo-san, obviously.”
What do you do when you’re hopelessly in love with your work senpai and can no longer function like a normal, tax-paying adult because of it?
You visit a witch.
Obviously.

Summary
Kurapika shouldn’t answer his phone. It’s too late, for one thing, already half past two in the morning. “Nothing good happens after midnight” is an adage with which Kurapika is so familiar that they drink from the same water bottle and don’t mind sharing a hotel bed. For another, he’s accompanying Light Nostrade to a breakfast meeting tomorrow and should at least try to get some sleep. And third, it’s Leorio’s name that blinks up at him.
On the first ring, Kurapika tears himself away from the profile he’s putting together on a flesh collector confirmed to have one of the scarlet eyes. On the second, he watches his phone convulse on the desk in his hotel room and considers rejecting the call to put it out of its misery. The third ring reminds him of the way Leorio sounds right after waking, with a sandpaper voice and a laugh like a jackhammer, gravel stuck in the back of his throat until he drinks enough coffee. He answers on the fourth.
“Oh shit,” says Leorio. “I didn’t think you’d pick up.”

Summary
Patting his pants for his phone, then growling at the fact that his pockets were empty, Leorio raced back upstairs in record time. His hands shook as he bounced back down, dialing a number that was more familiar than emergency services. He settled beside Kurapika’s body again as the line rang, pressing the back of his hand to his sweaty forehead.
The phone connected, and Leorio was quick to speak before any formalities could be exchanged.
“Cheadle. My house. It’s an emergency.”
“On it.”
The call ended, leaving Leorio with both hands to begin prep work. He hadn’t been religious since childhood, but in that moment, he was pleading to the heavens for any divine intervention to occur.
