Okay, I’m a little late to the whumptober game, and I’m a little rusty. Like, I haven’t written properly in almost two years I think…
Anyway, I adore whumptober. And I figured I should give it an attempt again this year. But with a twist. In years gone by, I’ve stuck to one singular fandom for the challenge.
This year? Anything I watch might make an appearance. Probably won’t be crossovers, but I won’t make any promises either.
I might write all 31, or I might fizzle out after a few days.
Wish me luck! And send thoughts and prayers for these poor characters I’m about to put through it physically or emotionally, or both.Series

This AU exists because I couldn’t stop thinking about what the story could be if Colter and Reenie met in a different way before anything messy happened. What would it be like if their relationship began on a foundation of professional respect first, and feelings took their time in a slow burn style friendship to something more situation.
The one night stand of my nightmares never happened.
Ohhh, and did I mention Reenie’s a single mom here? Well, she is and that changes everything: her time, her limits, her stakes. Colter doesn’t get to be a storm that blows through her life. He has to earn his place in it.
Or….the Reenie is a single-mom AU that no one asked for, but has been a lot of fun to write.
