    In a dystopian future where society has collapsed, major cities have been rendered uninhabitable, considered lost. However, people managed to cling to the earth's surface. Forced from the cities, people now live in settlements spattered across the countryside. For those who don't wish to stay in one place, clans of travellers roam across the land in great convoys of wagons, carrying goods from settlement to settlement as they pass.

    Because sons were seen as more valuable than daughters, men now outnumber women three to one across most of the land. As such, when König finds you after a revenge raid on your clan, he takes the most of the opportunity that has been pushed into his life and takes you as his new bride.

    Standing there in the hallway, toying nervously with the fabric of your shirt, you couldn’t think of a good enough reason to say no.
    Megumi and Yuji had promised they wouldn’t be long, but that had already been an hour ago. Your only real choice now was to kick it at the Fushiguro’s and count down the hours until they got back. Plus, you didn’t mind Toji. Sure he was a little rough around the edges, but there was an odd level of comfort that came along with that.
    He had an ease to him, a coolness. Like he was confident that he could handle whatever situation came his way. You liked that. And as you watched him take another slow sip, you couldn’t deny that you liked the way he looked too.

    When your plan to stay in and study at your bestfriends place gets turned on its head, you're forced to spend an evening alone with his father. Oh well - you'll just pretend to watch whatever boring movie he's got playing, then feign exhaustion and sneak away to bed - it can't be that hard, right? Hey, you might even get a free beer out of it.
