Summary
He felt it— warmth. The blanket tucked gently over him. A hand resting lightly between his shoulder blades. And a quiet presence in the dark.
Jason bit his lips and turned, facing Dick, and smushed his face into the older man’s chest, like he could hide from the world there.
Dick didn't push him away— just wrapped his arms around Jason like this was a normal thing between them. Then, softly, he said, “You're safe, Little Wing. I’ve got you. All the time.”
No questions. No judgment. Just steady comfort, quiet and real.
And he let himself believe Dick’s words, melting under his touch as he succumbed to sleep.
Maybe having a big brother wasn't so bad after all.
Everyone has nightmares. Jason has them way before Robin. Bruce was the one who kept them at bay— until Dick slowly became more present in his life. Until they grew closer.
Then, after coming back from the dead, Jason had no one to turn to when the nightmares hit. Not until he and the Bats were on decent terms two years later did he find himself seeking out for Dick— like the kid who died years ago, quietly looking for comfort from his older brother.

Summary
The deeper he goes, the quieter the city becomes. Patrol cars thin out. The glow of the firelight fades. Rusting carnival posters flap weakly against chain-link fences, their colours long bled away by weather and years. The skeletal outline of a Ferris wheel looms through the fog, jagged against the storm-washed sky. And lights are shining through the funhouse.
Which means...
Joker is circling back to his stage.
The air is heavier here— thick with rot, damp wood, the faintest trace of sugar turning sour. Memories claw their way up, old battles waged on these broken grounds, laughter echoing in the dark long after the fight was over.
Every muscle in his body coils tighter.
And when the first maniac laugh cuts through the silence— high, sharp, and close— it doesn't feel like a discovery.
It feels like an inevitability.
Or Dick kills Joker for the second time.

Summary
He should call someone.
Babs, maybe. Or Wally. Or even Alfred— God, Alfred would know what to say. Maybe even Bruce himself. Just— just someone.
But he doesn't. Something’s telling him that he shouldn't.
It’s late anyway. No one’s awake. At least, that’s what he tells himself. He just needs to sleep it off and he’ll go back to normal. Whatever normal is.
Except sleep doesn't come.
He lies down eventually, staring up at the ceiling. The mask still clings to his face. He tells himself he’ll take it off after five minutes. Then ten. Then an hour.
He lies awake long enough to watch dawn leak through the blinds, turning the apartment from grey to gold. When his alarm goes off two hours later, he’s still in costume. His muscles ache as if he’s run a marathon.
Dick isn’t okay, even if he tells himself that he is. Jason and Bruce are there to help.

Summary
“Maybe I’m here to finish the job,” he starts, gesturing vaguely at Dick’s direction with his cigarette pinched between his fingers. “Maybe I’m here to see if you’d call him and tell him how your ‘little brother’ nearly took your head off tonight. Maybe both. Who knows?”
“If you're not here for anything,” Dick says, voice low with a hint of exhaustion, eyes fluttering shut again, “I suggest you leave instead. We both know you’re not here because you’re guilty for what you did and I’m tired of fighting you. Leave— or stay, for all I care— but I’m going to bed.”
Jason scoffs, sounding almost offended. But Dick doesn't care— Jason doesn't want anything to do with them anymore, doesn't see them as family anymore, so why should he bother about the man?
Yes, Jason is his brother and will always be, but this time, he’s just tired of pretending that they’re family. Families go two ways— it's not a one-way thing.
Dick is tired of Jason's bullshit.

Summary
He fucking hates this.
Hates the gaps.
Hates the static buzzing behind his eyes like a faulty radio signal.
Hates that sometimes his memories feel less like memories and more like stories someone forced into his skull until he stopped being able to tell the difference.
Hates that sometimes he loses hours and sometimes he loses seconds and somehow the seconds feel worse because at least with hours there's enough missing space to pretend it never happened.
Hates that he is standing on Dick Grayson’s fire escape in sleep shorts at who knows what time while his chest feels too tight for his lungs and his brain keeps pulling in opposite directions hard enough to make him nauseous.
Jason’s mind can’t seem to understand what it needs.
