Yusuke continued to stare up at the ceiling.
He thinks back to the night he spent, squashed up onto the couch in Akira’s room, the night after Madarame had made his confession. The passage of time was certainly something. Forever moving forward, undeterred by anything in the universe, it marches on unyielding. That was nearly a year ago now. Summer was, at that point, in full swing. The back of Leblanc was baked all day by the sun’s heavy rays and it was warm up in the attic. The dorms were blessed with air conditioning and Yusuke woke up this morning cold. He couldn’t complain. After all, it was his natural affinity. Yet, he hadn’t felt suffocated that night on the couch.
