Summary
Shane swivelled around, turning his attention to the staff spread around the studio, “You really don’t see it? Oh my god, how could anyone watch this and not immediately understand what’s going on.”
The room fell silent. Shane launched up and stood next to the editor at the controls, “Go back a few secs. Wait a second… There it is. There!” The footage paused on a wide shot of the ice, a ref had begun to skate towards Ilya, directing him back to his bench.
“Okay go forward just like, as slow as possible.” The editor did as instructed. “Shit, sorry, it’s so quick. Go back. Okay, forward. Stop! Look, right there.”
He heard someone from the crew murmur, “Oh my god.”
Shane’s voice broke as he ran his hands through his hair, “Yeah. So, now do you understand why I have to do this?”
Or: Shane makes sure the documentary finishes differently and it's the most romantic thing Ilya Rozanov has ever seen.

Summary
In the offseason, a steamy video of Shane and Ilya dancing at a club goes viral. Already out and married for years at this point, the first husbands of hockey can't believe this is news. For once, it's Shane whose media responses blow it up even further. Ilya’s not about to let an opportunity to compete with Shane go to waste.
Or
The rivalry still hasn't died, they just find new ways to keep it going. Why choose silence when you can choose violence?

A headcanon I couldn’t stop thinking about after chapter 13 of Wolfbird.

Summary
“But…” Ilya stalls out. He conjures his sun’s face: the soft curve of skin where the corner of his eye becomes the sweep of his cheekbone, the stubble that clings to the soft end of his chin, the strong and even line of his eyebrows. “Solnyshko,” Ilya says. “It means sun, yes, but… it’s like a pet name. Sunshine. Honey. I’m calling you my sun.”
This is mortifying in English. Christ, he should never have started this conversation. He should have shaken Shane off when he had the chance. Even as Ilya thinks this, he knows he could not have done it. He cannot deny Shanyshko anything. That has always been the problem between them. What a terrifying, awesome, horrible problem to have. Ilya would like to have this problem for the rest of his life.

Summary
"And now,” Rozanov shook his head, frowning. “Now, the only thing I can ever think about is you doing it again.” He clenched his hands into fists and brought them to the countertop. "Of you putting your hands on me. I want it so much. Want you to just,” he made an abortive clawing motion with his hands. “Tear it out of me. Everything I think. Everything I feel. Nothing has ever fixed it like you.”
Shane thought he could understand that pretty well.
Or: Ilya wants Shane to take control like he had during their night in Las Vegas. He's not very good at asking for things he wants.
