He waits, watching Riza watch him. He doesn’t want to admit how badly he wants her to come inside. Maybe she already knows, anyway.
She sighs, a tiny smile playing at her lips. “One drink,” she agrees.
This is a dance they’ve been doing for a long time, just skirting the line of what’s acceptable. Their interactions are sometimes more intimate than their professional relationship warrants, but they are never inappropriate. It never goes too far. Never.

It’s a line that they’ve tip-toed far too many times, yet never actually crossed. It’s exciting. Thrilling. Havoc isn’t even remotely uncomfortable, just relishing in the attention from them while he can. It’s likely that, by the end of the night, they’ll wind up in their own hotel rooms- and in the morning, they won’t talk about the wanton looks or lingering brushes of their hands on one another.
“Hey, you two,” Mustang casually starts when the bartender announces that the bar is about to close for the night, his voice not betraying a semblance of what’s to come. “Why don’t we head back to my room for some more drinks? There should be more than enough in that mini fridge to go around.”
“With all due respect, sir,” Hawkeye, easily the smartest between the three of them, interjects after swallowing down a gin and tonic. Perhaps she, like Havoc, has noticed the stolen glances, fleeting touches, and boundary-pushing comments sprinkled throughout their impromptu outing. “Are you sure that’s a great idea?”
And, Havoc being Havoc, he foolishly laughs at Hawkeye’s words with a shrug and says-
“What’s a few more drinks between friends?”
