The grief of it sometimes eats him alive.
Wei Wuxian would never admit it to anyone but Wen Qing— which is just as well, since she was the one who carved out his Golden Core with steady hands and placed it where it would do the most good. For his brother to gain a life, in exchange for his own.
And yet, he is alive, and the mourning lingers.

Summary
Lately, Nie Huaisang’s thoughts all concerned Lan Wangji’s disastrous love life and how this negatively impacted all the poor souls that had to put up with his lack-of-cuddling induced stress. Stress that resulted in extra strictness, that was.
And, especially, his thoughts also revolved around how to solve that situation.
Nie Huaisang watched Wei Wuxian out of the corner of his eye.
I mean, if there’s someone who’s usually up to taking one for the team, it’s Wei-xiong. But would he agree to make out with Lan-er-gongzi to appease the guy a bit? Or would he consider letting himself be kissed and caressed by another boy a bit too much to ask of him?
(Or: Nie Huaisang notices Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian might have feelings for each other and decides to do something about it.)

Summary
Wei Wuxian grits his teeth, knowing he has no other choice. Not if it means Lan Zhan’s life. Besides, the Cloud Recesses has the best library and a long history of dealing with curses. It’s the most logical choice, even if he’d like to punch logic in the face right now.
“Wei Ying?” Lan Zhan asks.
He gives him a grim smile. “Looks like you’re finally getting your wish, Lan Zhan.”
Lan Zhan stares back at him, expression blank.
“I’m coming to Gusu with you.”
Or: Lan Wangji gets hit with a curse that requires Wei Wuxian to stay in close proximity at all times. Everything only gets more complicated from there.
