“I suppose you would have to be to play a sport where you regularly get hit on the head.” Caitlyn’s tone is completely dry, and she doesn’t even make eye contact.
It’s not funny at all, but Vi still finds herself laughing when she realizes this is Caitlyn’s idea of a joke. “I never said it was beautiful or graceful. I’m glad that’s not part of this competition we’re doing,” she motions towards the rink behind her, “because you would win by a landslide. Caitlyn Kiramman, the undefeated world champion of being beautiful and graceful.”

Alex shrugs again, but Vi's been Alex before. She knows what a quick glance up at her and then away means. Please don't make me beg if you're going to say no.
"I guess."
"I'll go talk to her," Vi says, helping Alex takes the gloves off. "You can keep the wraps. If you need to hit anything, that will make it better."
"Kay."
"Kay," Vi parrots back. Alex trails after her. "What's your foster mum called?"
Vi yanks the door open, ready for a fight with a snooty old woman. She stops so suddenly that Alex barrels into her back. Because sure, the woman in front of her is snooty as fuck, but heavens is she pretty.
"Caitlyn," Alex says as she opens her arms for a running Lavender. "Caitlyn Kiramman."

Summary
“What are you doing?” the woman asked, breath catching.
“Still being bold,” Vi said, her grin returning as her fingers closed around the woman’s hand. “And hoping you’ll remember tonight… in case it is just a passing moment and I don’t ever see you again.”
The woman opened her mouth, but no words came. Vi noticed the parts of her features not obstructed from the mask looked softer.
Vi leaned in slightly, close, but not yet touching. “Unless you don’t want to see each other again.”
The woman’s fingers flexed gently against Vi’s, holding her stare.
“I wouldn’t dream of that,” she said softly.
OR-
Vi and Cait meet at a masquerade, never learning each other's identities. But what happens when they meet again without the masks? Familiar details making them wonder, but them both convincing themselves it can’t be true.

“It is now-” Caitlyn looked over to the calendar hanging on the far side of the living room, “-one week until Valentine’s Day, and you have neglected asking me to be your Valentine.”
Vi blinked.
What? Valentine's Day? Caitlyn had been giving her the coldest shoulder all evening because Vi hadn’t asked her to be her Valentine?
What a relief!
A soft chuckle bubbled up Vi’s throat. “Valentine? Baby-” she held up her left hand and pointed to the gold wedding band on her ring finger, “- we’re married. I don’t need to ask you to be my Valentine.”

Vi never really cared for Valentine’s Day. It was a pompous Piltie holiday- an excuse to waste money on chocolate and teddy bears. But Caitlyn cared about Valentine's Day, and Vi cared about Caitlyn. She’d do whatever it takes to make Caitlyn happy, even if that meant wearing armour and a cape on a rose-covered bed, while speaking like a horny Shakespearean poet.
Follow Vi on her rigorous, yet heart-warming, quest to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day for her wife.
OR
Vi acts like a straight man and ends up paying handsomely for her crimes by dressing up as a sexy knight and begging Caitlyn to forgive her.
