Gloved hands discarded the rag, Barbatos reached for his own teacup and crossed his legs languidly looking down at his cup absentmindedly as the brown liquid sloshed around in the cup.
You would think he was asking him out on a date.
Basically a rewrite of that one lesson in Nightbringer where MC helped Mammon with a Job interview with Barbatos. except there is no MC and it is not cannon-compliant.
This is an excuse to write flustered Barbatos

Gilbert studied the boy; he was wearing the cadet uniform Gilbert had commissioned just for him-that beautiful Prussian blue-now covered in dust and cobwebs. His small hands were still bruised from the ruler wielded by Gilbert earlier this morning. But the swelling had gone down, and he knew it would be completely healed come the next day.
As if to distract him, Ludwig slowly pressed one side of his face into Gilbert's shirt-expression blank and seemingly unfeeling-every move of his watched by intelligent blue eyes.
Gilbert took a deep breath; the urge to slap that unsettling blank look away was strong, but it wasn't his brothers fault that he was the way he was.
