Grace doesn’t understand a single word of what Rocky is saying. “What is happening right now?” he asks, somewhat desperately.
Two instances of cosmic anomalies bring two different spaceships to the same universe. When both crews become stranded on a hostile planet, searching for a way to get home, they'll have to work together to survive.
Grace is seriously out of his depth here, but he does enjoy studying all this new alien life. Rocket is teaching Rocky, his new engineer buddy, all kinds of fun things. Quill and Mantis are glad to be back with their family (even if they are stuck on a deadly planet that's trying to kill them at every opportunity). Drax hates the colour pink, Groot hates the acid rain, and Nebula just wants to keep all these idiots alive.

Two grainy images of their faces appear: Cal, sporting a new lightsaber burn across his face and Vos with his dreads flying loose and wild. They must have been taken from the Senate security footage.
“Did we make things worse? I think we made them worse.” Cal drags his knees up to his torso and hugs his arms around them. He continues to intently watch the Coruscant newsfeed.
“…and now, we now go to Reporter Delshie on Naboo, where protests have broken out across the planet…."
Vos just takes another swig of his Corellian whisky.
Two psychometric Jedi receive an assortment of items from the Force. Each object contains echoes, or memories, that tell of a future to come. And it is a very dark future indeed…

“What are you talking about?” Grace's fingers played quick chords as he spoke. He didn’t even look as he did it, but it did not make them any less purposeful.
“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

He catches a glimpse of himself in the small mirror across the room.
It’s as if he’s been frozen in time. Nothing about him has changed since he last touched the surface of his home planet.
But of course, that’s not true. Everything has changed.
He doesn’t understand. He doesn’t know what this means. He’s a man of science. There are rules, immutable laws of the universe, no matter where in the universe one is. Entropy, decay, deterioration. Everything in the universe experiences it.
Everything except him, it seems.
Or: While on Erid, Ryland Grace makes a startling realization: he seems to have stopped aging.
