The boy’s teary green eyes met his, and widened when they comprehended Katsuki’s lack of injuries. At the same time, he marveled:
“Kacchan…is okay?”

Summary
Izuku whirled around. Kacchan got hit?! When?!
But no, Kacchan was right there, running towards him at full speed. Crimson eyes widened as they met green.
“Dammit, Deku, don’t fall for–”
Too late. In his brief panic, he realized, he’d let his grip on Blackwhip loosen. A sudden flash of pain erupted through his whole body, and Izuku screamed—a guttural, animal sound. The impact of the beam tore into his skin and sent him flying as the world dissolved into green light.

When Izuku and Katsuki are on a mock patrol, they don't expect to be attacked by a villain alongside Jirou and Kaminari. They also don't expect that attack to land them all in a videogame. And they definitely don't expect all that this new journey will bring to light.
OR
Izuku and Katsuki almost lose each other many, many times. It's almost like this world wants them all dead.
Izuku will do anything to protect his childhood friend that he wishes would reciprocate his unspoken feelings.
Katsuki will do the same, but it's not like he cares about Izuku, or anything. Nope, no way.

Summary
The world was one cruel fucking place, and Katsuki hadn’t ever made it any better for Izuku. If anything, he’d spent most of their lives making it worse. He’d been a horrible person, but as he stared down at Izuku, the latter’s big eyes gleaming, searching his own, he moved again without thinking.
His body always seemed to move like that when it came to Izuku, as if it were his instinct to protect him, to see him, to be there for him. He leaned down despite the aching pain in his body, and he hugged Izuku for the first time in their lives. He buried his face in the green locks he had once hated, arms tightening around the fragile, bandaged body he’d fought countless times, ears relishing in the sound of Izuku’s soft gasp, something so tender, something he’d never heard directed at him before.

“What did—what did they do, Deku?” He feels like he’s talking to a kindergartener or something. For all the bullying and insults, he’s never talked down on the nerd like this. He hates it, but he hates the fact that Deku doesn’t seem to notice it even more.
“Nothin’ big. Hit me a few times. Asked if they should, if I thought they should wake you up. Said no.” The nerd pauses, and the moment drags on. He sucks in a breath through his teeth, the sound whistling and thin. “Wanted to let you sleep.”
Katsuki lets out a humorless bark of laughter.
“Wha’s so funny?” Deku squints at him through his one working eye.
“My hero,” Katsuki says. “Of course you fuckin’ told them to let me sleep. God."
