Summary
A not-so-recently divorced Lucifer Morningstar decides to pack up the dregs of his past and leave it all behind, but not before taking one last weekend trip to his beloved sea-side cabin. His quiet life changes forever when he discovers a strange creature lying half-dead on the beach, in desperate need of his help.
With the government now hunting him and the half-man, half-fish hiding in his bathtub, Lucifer must make a choice: give Alastor up and return to his old life, or take a leap of faith on the mysterious creature he rescued.

“Hi!” Lucifer’s voice cracks just a bit. He clears his throat and tries again. “Um, hi. Are you—I’m your date? I think? Sorry if I kept you waiting, had a little trouble finding the place.”
At first, the man is silent as his piercing, grey-green eyes go wide with surprise before he breaks into the biggest, most dazzling smile Lucifer has ever seen.
“Lucky me,” the man purrs, his gaze flickering across Lucifer’s face like he’s fascinated. “It’s no trouble; I’m sure you’re worth the wait.”

The rusting gears of his ticking existence strike right twice a day. Once, when that asshole from work does his stupid assholey schtick in a way that makes Lucifer feel something for once. The second time when he does it again, and Lucifer wonders just how creative he can get with office supplies.
