Izuku was twenty-three, and he found himself just bored— lonely, really. “Sorry,” Izuku said, wiping the gravy off with the back of his hand. “Um… this is —” Did Okami even have a word for squid? Gods, he was so unpractised. “Summer festival food,” he explained instead. “Y-Yummy.” To his own horror, Izuku began rubbing a circle over his stomach.
Katsuki’s lip quirked, and Izuku prayed very hard for Nana-sama to lightning strike him into ash.
Izuku’s shoulders sagged. “My Okami—”
“—Is still atrocious.” Katsuki smirked, clearly revelling in the shock on Izuku’s face.
Izuku and Katsuki weren't meant to become close. They weren't even really meant to meet. The differences between their clans — and the significant language barrier between them — should have ensured that.
But nobody has ever needed perfect grammar to fall in love anyway.
