Arthur huffed, “If I’d known you’d turn into such a grouch I never would have died.”
Merlin scowled.
The warlock shot up from his bed and stalked out of his room, leaving the former king in his wake. He barely gave himself time to snatch his coat from the floor to warm up his freezing shoulders.
“Too soon? Merlin- look, I’m sorry, come back!”
Or: A week after Merlin buried his best friend and other half in Avalon, said best friend and other half that he buried in Avalon is suddenly trailing after him like a lost puppy. A dead lost puppy. That came back as a ghost. Merlin was going to scream.

Summary
“Your prowess at the healing arts is also so awe-inspiring,” Merlin said, “what do those smoked herbs do?”
In the corner one of the druids started coughing.
“Uhh,” the cloaked figure in front of him finished the bandage, “they, well…”
A druid from the corner chipped in, “Relax ya!”
“Yeah, relax!” the other agreed quickly. “You gotta let you’re uh -muscles- rest sometimes.”
They looked to the druids in the corner with a weird expression. Merlin supposed they were communicating with their minds.
“So wise,” Merlin nodded sagely, “just like Gaius told me.”
Or: What my mind comes up with at midnight after binging BBC Merlin and the only coherent thought I can have is, "They're All So Stupid." Everyone is both 100 times smarter and 100 time dumber than they are in canon. Basically a compilation of short, cracky scenarios set in different seasons of Merlin that are somehow completely unconnected, but all happening in the same universe.

Summary
For no noticeable reason, Arthur suddenly felt a cold shiver run down his spine. The hairs on the back of his neck stood to attention. The young prince put his bowl down slowly and turned his gaze to the trees. Something was wrong.
Even with the moon so bright, it took Arthur far too long to spot the hand. He would later hate himself for it.

Before Arthur could even try to alert the first knight, the bandits made their move.
